We have our own line of European style cast aluminum guttering, down pipes and unions to replace broken PVC gutters.  The joints are all welded on site to eliminate leaky gutters that are one of the main causes of wood rot.

GLASS REPLACEMENT

Many older conservatories had first generation insulated glass and the seals failed after a few years causing condensation between the glass. We offer a wide range of energy saving saving glass replacements and upgrades.   Low E Argon filled tempered insulated is now a glass industry standard, with different levels of solar control available.  

With increased energy costs many of our clients with older conservatories have asked us to upgrade all the glass in their conservatories.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Keeping your conservatory clean is an important part of maintaining and ensuring it's longevity.  We are not a glass cleaning company.  When we clean a conservatory, we clean all components from top to bottom, inside and out.  This allows us to check for leaks and any other areas of concern so we may make suggestions for repairs before they become a problem . 

ICE DAMMING DAMAGE 

PREVENTION

In northern states ice damming is a 

common problem during the winters and, unless special precautions are taken, can cause a lot of damage to a traditional wood framed conservatory.

Over the years we have developed a dependable flashing system that is installed along the conservatory eaves and behind the gutters.  When Ice does build up in the gutters it cannot expand into the framing system and cause leaking on the conservatory interior when it starts to thaw. The flashing is typically installed when the old gutters are replaced with the new 

​European style gutter system.


FLASHING AND VALLEYS

Very often we have calls to come and fix  leaks in conservatory roofs. Upon closer inspection we find that water is getting in through flashing above and behind the conservatory roof, travelling down inside the house wall and eventually escaping down the inside framing of the conservatory roof. Replacing flashing and waterproofing valleys are our specialities.

From replacing failed or broken glass to carefully dissecting rotten wood there is no limit to the custom replacements we can make to bring renewed life back to your original investment.

PAINTING

We offer a full painting service.  As part of the recommend maintenance the conservatory exterior timber framing should be repainted every 6-8 years. Proper preparation and paint products are essential to ensuring a perfect finish that will also help preserve the building.

POLYCARBONATE ROOF GLASS REPLACEMENT

Machin Conservatories, with the unique curved roofs used double polycarbonate roof glass which after many years starts to yellow and craze.  We can replace the old glazing with high tensile Lexan with excellent ultraviolet resistance and anti-scratch coating.
